Summer Internship - Social Media
Acadia is currently seeking a qualified intern to join its Leasing/IT group and participate in various social media related functions within the respective disciplines. Throughout the internship the successful intern will assist in developing strategies to increase Acadia’s social media presence over social channels (including, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube).
Interns will be assigned a mentor who will provide guidance throughout the duration of their internship. Interns will be encouraged to learn as much as possible, and will have the opportunity to learn how the other disciplines at Acadia work during the process. The intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in social media from a commercial real estate perspective.
Interns will provide support in the following areas:
• Working primarily with Acadia’s Leasing and IT groups to create, develop and monitor our Social Media presence.
• Support and protect Acadia’s brand by ensuring positive messaging is maintained in the community.
• Establish consistency of message across multiple networks.
• Monitor and track discussion topics for management team.
• Create and maintain corporate blogs.
Project Manager
Acadia is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer with a proven track record. The successful candidate must have a clear understanding of the construction industry and process, with the ability to read construction documents. This Position will be reporting to the Project Manager and Project Executive, and will be based out of the job site in Brooklyn.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Reviews & overlays contract documents for proper coordination between trades to reduce conflicts and change orders
• Review RFI's, submittals / shop drawings for compliance with the Contract documents.
• Processes RFI's and Submittals with the design team and appropriate contractors/ team members. Maintains electronic database (RFI & Submittal Log) on behalf of ACRS.
• Prepare agenda/ topics for Bi-weekly Owner-Architect-Engineer meetings and distribute meeting minutes to all attendees.
• Work with the project management team to develop agendas/ topics for weekly contractor meeting and distributes meeting minutes to all contractors
• Review sub-contractors contracts and communicates with the project team to ensure that the contractor is completing their scope of work as specified.
• Coordinate between Project team, Architects, Engineers and sub-contractors to resolve issues and speed-up the construction process.
• Updates the Project schedule
• Document, review, distribute revisions and be involved with the change order process.

Summer Intern - IT
The Acadia IT department intends to offer a paid internship to a student enrolled in an accredited Computer Science program the opportunity to work in a real-world, high-tech environment.
Under supervision, the IT Intern will provide technical and troubleshooting analysis for the end user community. Log and track all IT equipment issues in the help desk system. Resolve end user problems either remotely or through visits to the desktop. Appropriately escalate business system, server, or network issues to other members of the IT team. Serve with a positive, customer-service attitude. Work on special IT projects as assigned by the team
This position works primarily in an office setting. Some travel may be required to complete duties, such as user assistance and training at one of our properties.. Lifting of equipment (10-50 lbs, personal computers, monitors, etc.) is required in the daily duties of this position.
Functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Provide day-to-day support of desktop PC software applications via the help desk system
• Log service requests as open tickets, maintain status, and provide follow-up both to end users and to senior members of the IT team.
• Schedule and install new hardware and software applications. Imaging desktops/laptops
• Perform preventative maintenance on computer equipment.
• Hardware inventory and recycling of old equipment.
• Active Directory administration
• Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of IT
• May work on Disaster Recovery or Security Projects
